Incorporated in 2004, Peaceoholics promotes conflict resolution, HIV/AIDS prevention, substance abuse prevention, gang prevention and family wellness through its youth and family programs. Our effort in support of youth are directed at understanding problems such as school violence and developing solutions to them so that every young person has an opportunity to develop in an environment that is safe and secure, free of fear and conductive to learning.
Peaceoholics was established to enhance the academic and social development of at-risk youth and their families. To assist in the reduction of truancy, violence , and to increase common respect, literacy and self-worth amongst our youth and communities.
Peaceoholics has touched the lives of over 10,000 youth and families in Washington, DC and surrounding areas. The Peaceoholics organization was founded following requests from area schools, politicians, community activists, youth, families and clergy members for volunteer efforts to address crisis situations in local communities. Through the volunteer assignments, the need for a local non-profit organization that has the ability to reach the most difficult youth became apparent. The organization was founded to serve as an advocacy organization for youth and families, to respond to and address escalating youth violence in Washington, DC and to develop prevention and intervention services that meet the needs of the youth found in the gap between adult detention and death.
We look forward to solidifying and instituting programs in and around the Washington, DC area. By setting an example in the Nations Capital we will be able to initiate legislation that will spread the Peaceoholics Vision/Mission Nation wide. Come and join us to help achieve our Goals!!
